Evidential reasoning-based nonlinear programming model for MCDA under fuzzy weights and utilities

چکیده
In a multiple-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) problem, qualitative information with subjective judgments of ambiguity is often provided by people, together with quantitative data that may also be imprecise or incomplete. There are several uncertainties that may be considered in an MCDA problem, such as fuzziness and ambiguity. The evidential reasoning (ER) approach is well suited for dealing with such MCDA problems and can generate comprehensive distributed assessments for different alternatives. Many researches in dealing with imprecise or uncertain belief structures have been conducted on the ER approach. In this paper, both triangular fuzzy weights of criteria and fuzzy utilities assigned to evaluation grades are introduced to the ER approach, which may be incurred in several circumstances such as group decision-making situation. The Hadamard multiplicative combination of judgment matrix is extended for the aggregation of triangular fuzzy judgment matrices, the result of which is applied as the fuzzy weights used in the fuzzy ER approach. The consistency of the aggregated triangular fuzzy judgment matrix is also proved. Several pairs of ER-based programming models are designed to generate the total fuzzy belief degrees and the overall expected fuzzy utilities for the comparison of alternatives. A numerical example is conducted to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach. C © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

A Compromise Decision-Making Model Based on TOPSIS and VIKOR for Multi-Objective Large- Scale Nonlinear Programming Problems with A Block Angular Structure under Fuzzy Environment
This paper proposes a compromise model, based on a new method, to solve the multiobjectivelarge scale linear programming (MOLSLP) problems with block angular structureinvolving fuzzy parameters. The problem involves fuzzy parameters in the objectivefunctions and constraints. In this compromise programming method, two concepts areconsidered simultaneously. First of them is that the optimal alter...
متن کاملAnalysis and Synthesis Using the Fuzzy Rule-based Evidential Reasoning Approach
The main objective of this paper is to propose a framework for modelling, analysing and synthesizing system safety of engineering systems or projects on the basis of a generic rule-based inference methodology using the evidential reasoning (RIMER) approach. The framework is divided into two parts. The first one is for fuzzy rule-based safety estimation, referred to as a fuzzy rule-based evident...
متن کاملBelief function theory based decision support methods: application to torrent protection work effectiveness and reliability assessment
Civil engineering protection works mitigate natural risks in mountains, such as torrents. Analysing their effectiveness at several scales is an essential issue in the risk management. Based on expert knowledge, used methods have been developed under risky environment. However, decision is made under uncertainty because of 1) the lack of information and knowledge on natural phenomena and 2) the ...
متن کاملA New ER-MCDA Mapping for Decision-Making Based on Imperfect Information
The Evidential Reasoning for Multi Criteria Decision Analysis (ER-MCDA) is based on a mapping process transforming a possibility distribution into a Bayesian basic belief assignment (BBA) related to a qualitative frame of discernement (FoD). Each element of the FoD is a fuzzy set. A new improved mapping method is proposed to get a final potentially non-Bayesian BBA on the FoD. We apply it to as...
متن کاملDecision Support Tools for Natural Hazards Management under Uncertainty New Approaches Based on Multicriteria Decision Analysis and Evidential Reasoning
The natural risks management process involves several temporal steps (preparedness, mitigation, crisis management, recovery...) and spatial zones (triggering, propagation and deposition or extension areas). Decision support systems are expected to help the experts, the risk managers, the local authorities to take difficult decisions often based on imperfect information provided by more or less ...
